The Anatomy of The Good Gene #2

So the origin of The Good Gene was a dream - that was the spring of 2019. After writing and saving the basic outline, I shelved it until the summer of 2021. Then, I "dusted" off the computer file and decided it was time to get to work on this writing project. With no writing training, I didn't know what else to do but treat it like my software projects from years earlier when I was working for NASA.

I began by drawing out a high level flow chart containing the story. I broke down the main modules or nodes of that flowchart into more detailed flowcharts. Happy with my diagram filled with line and nodes, I decided it was time to describe each of the nodes or modules in much more detail. As the summer of 2021 came to an end, I'd written fairly detailed descriptions of all the modules in my diagram but I was lacking the characters. I needed lots of diverse characters. It would be another nine months before that leg of my writing journey would begin.
